GONIEC: What are the challenges and new opportunities for Polcham  in the year 2020?

Eric Szustak President of Polcham: Nobody believed we can put this together; what people don’t realize is that we are no longer Polish here, we are Canadians with Polish roots and that is a little bit different. I am finding very successful Canadians with Polish roots, I’m bringing them together; from Bank of Montréal, from other different companies.

We are going to build a very serious Polish Canadian chamber. This has not been done in the last number of decades. Old Polish community tends to be more social in the nature, they have wonderful dance groups, choirs, social groups…

  – But we are also an upper-middle-class people; people who have businesses.

–  We are going to bring those people together, because we haven’t been working together. We are going to be represented properly because we are big piece of Canada, we’ve been here since 1830ties, we have to be represented, we have to stand up for our culture and heritage.

  – What about new opportunities in Europe; trade with Poland?

– We have a number of objectives; we have to work together as a network here, then we are going to be one-stop shop – and a Polish company that wants to come to Canada,  they only have to come to Polcham Canada; we have accountants, we have lawyers, we have real estate agents, we have translators, we have engineers – everything in one stop. This is called a soft landing for Polish companies.

   – So you are facilitators and you are opening the doors?

– We are opening the doors. Everybody has to work I cannot do that for them but we are creating a network where they can come and whatever they need, we can provide. We are also going to have open door to every major company in Canada.

   – So what are your objectives for the New Year, what do you want to accomplish?

– We’re gonna continue building „Podziemna Armia”…

  – How many members do you have?

– Right now we have almost hundred members, but this evening we have over 200 people coming.

 – Thank you very much and all the best for the New Year.

– Thank you for all your support.
